Built c. 1844. 211-213 N 3rd was originally a four story Greek revival building. In 1975, the upper three stories were removed, and in 1982, the exterior brick walls were covered over by stucco.
In 1943 Pierre Uniforms Inc., a uniform manufacturer for the medical and restaurant professions, moved into professional costuming, trading as "Costumes by Pierre". In 1961 Pierre purchased the enormous inventory of "Miller Costumier", which had been in business since 1876.
There are reportedly over one million items in stock in Pierre's city block long warehouse.
